hmm, it works as expected. Look at explorerforum for inspiration to put one in. If you know what you are doing, it takes 10 min, ok, maybe 15 for one screw that is a pain to put back in.My symptoms: Right blinker was intermittent, brake light was not working. To eliminate the bulbs etc. I switched the whole rear lights assembly from right to left and everything worked as it should. I then put the left on the right and nothing did. There are others that have claimed to fix it by adjusting their steering wheel (a wire apparently gets stretched which releases the pressure) so check that out first (on this old unit itself). I was abl to somewhat reproduce it and wiggle the wires but eventually gave up for my sanity and ordered this part, glad I did.Why I went OEM. For critical parts, I like OEM. With the number of things and functions this part has, I would rather go through the pain of doing it once and be good for another 10 years. if you are cheap and don't mind the hassle, go for the $30 one, they are available here too.
